Although in a peaceful rural setting, Ty Newydd is conveniently only 3.5 miles south of Brecon just off the A40 and therefore easy to find. Located next to the Mon & Brec Canal, Taff Trail and National Cycle Route 8, many guests are able to cycle and hike their way to Ty Newydd.

BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT
We can be reached using public transport, however we advise you do a bit of research prior to your trip. Depending on what you want to do during your stay, you might decide you need a car. Abergavenny is our nearest train station, which is 30 minutes away from us. You can book a cab or catch a bus to Llanfrynach X43 (no Sunday service). You might be able to arrange car hire via Enterprise Car Hire who have offices in Monmouth and Merythr. If you can plan you travel to Cwmbran Train Station there is a local Car hire at Avondale.

BY CAR
A40 from Abergavenny:- After travelling approximately 15 miles along the A40, take the exit for Talybont-on-usk. At the junction turn right onto B4558. Continue through Talybont-on-usk and then Pencelli. About ½ mile beyond Pencelli the road passes over the canal. Turn right immediately after the canal bridge and continue along our driveway( look out for our sign).
A40 from Brecon:- take the A40 towards Abergavenny. Take the first exit signposted B4558; Llanfrynach. At the junction, turn left, under the A40, over the canal (past a lock) and over a single lane bridge. Keep on this road for about a mile (ignoring the signs on the right for Llanfrynach), just before a bridge going over the canal again you will find us on the left (sign posted – Ty newydd Holidays).
